About Holstein Mediation
I mediate employment law, as well as business cases, in Minnesota, primarily in Minneapolis. I am licensed to practice law in Minnesota, and have extensive experience in the state and federal courts of Minnesota. Although I am currently living in Chicago, all of my mediation work is in Minnesota, IN PERSON, and I willingly pick up the cost of travel and lodging because litigants are, in my opinion, more likely to settle when the mediator is “in the actual room.”

Decisive
As a veteran trial attorney with successful jury trial experience in both federal and state court, I know how to communicate clearly and persuasively in both the language of the law and the language of common sense.

Emotional Intelligence
I am sensitive to the range of feelings people experience in litigation as well as in mediation. I know how to listen to parties in a way that makes them feel comfortable and motivated toward resolution.

Confidential
I respect the assurance of confidentiality that parties and lawyers must have in order to confide in their mediator, and they always have that assurance from me.

Cost
I appreciate efficiency in others, and I strive to return that courtesy to lawyers and parties. My rates for mediation are significantly lower than what I charge for litigation. I bill in detail so you know exactly what work I performed on your behalf before and during the mediation.
I admire and trust Linda Holstein’s instincts about the settlement process, especially the competing pressures facing an advocate during intense mediation sessions. Her ability to listen closely and ‘get the story’ comes from years of experience as a federal court litigator and courtroom veteran.

Linda Holstein’s extensive experience and success as a trial lawyer, as well as her empathetic and engaging personality, make her well-suited to mediate and settle business and employment law disputes. She is an excellent addition to the mediation roster of qualified neutrals in Minnesota.
